The Dubai Land Department has introduced a feature that will allow transaction fees to be paid online. The e-Payment initiative will be cost-effective for the departments and its customers, especially since customers will not need to visit the department’s offices to pay the fees.
“This initiative will contribute to raising the capacity of the procedures carried out by the DLD’s departments, where we are able to provide e-payment services throughout the day and throughout the week, while customers can finalise their payments from overseas,” said Khalifa Al Suwaidi, CEO of Emirates Real Estate Solutions, the tech arm of the Land Department.
“There are a lot of benefits that can be achieved through the application of e-payment, most importantly to reduce the real time information, improve efficiency by reducing transaction time and saved cost, increased governance and tight control on all payments through the different cycles at all party level.”
This step is in line with Dubai Government strategic objectives of reducing by up to 80 per cent of customers’ physical visits to public sector departments by 2018.
